I am a winemaker who specialises in producing small amounts of handcrafted super-premium wines in Australia, France and South Africa. There are no middlemen involved; I make, mature, bottle and deliver these wines for my customers to just enjoy.
When I work this totally direct way, I can offer wines that would normally have to retail between £15 to £20+ a bottle for around £10 or less... that’s a massive 25-50% discount on every wine I produce.
Everyone should be able to enjoy wines in the super-premium category. And they are the wines I want to make, but making them affordable is what I really like to do.
Every March I go to Australia to make 30 or so barrels of wine from the fruit of a handful of carefully selected (over several years), old vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. The best fruit in Australia. Everything hand done, the finest oak, lots of love and care.
Every September I go to Bordeaux to make 30 or so barrels of wine from the fruit of prime-site old vineyards in the St. Emilion area. The best fruit available in that part of France. Wine made to the highest possible 'Grand Cru' type standards.
I know I am lucky to be able to do this. But hopefully it is you who will really enjoy the benefits; wines of exceptional delicacy, richness, subtlety and complexity without any extortionate prices.
I am quite young for a winemaker, being in my mid twenties, but I have been making wine since I was seventeen. I have been apprenticed to and worked alongside some of the world's finest winemakers. I have, I hope, many more years to further sharpen my skills in micro-vinification.
Like me you will probably prefer ‘nature-created’ wines with as little human intervention as possible. Giving nature the chance to make the wine by itself produces wine of strong individuality. It is absolutely fascinating to taste the character of individual soils, climates, vineyards and regions in the finished wine.
I sell my wine through tastings and this website. But recently have had to make the decision to start pre-selling all wines before they reach the U.K.
This is simply because of increasing pressure to sell elsewhere abroad, and therefore the need to allocate all stock (as these are very small volumes) before shipping.
This is why I have set up my '1000 Club'. So that anyone who might like a case or two of a new vintage can get first refusal on all my wines. It is free to join and there is absolutely no obligation to purchase. The 1000 club is simply a list of interested people.
To join simply fill out the form on this website and I will let you know every time I have a new wine coming out. Plus I'll send information on pre-release tastings around the country. If you buy a case, it will come with a full vintage report, tasting notes and cellaring information. I like my customers to get as mentally involved in these wine as I do, so will make sure you have all the information you need to enjoy these wines to their full potential. I have small amounts of previous vintage stock that you can purchase through this site, and you can also use the mixed cases generator to get a selection of different wines.
I hope you enjoy reading about what I have been up to these last few years and look forward to maybe meeting some of you at a tasting in the near future.
Best Wishes
